J.C. Ditzler practices in the Global Insurance Group, concentrating his practice in international insurance matters, insurance coverage and complex litigation. He is the firm's London Practice Area Chairman. J.C. works out of the firm's London office, and currently acts for London insurers on matters pending literally throughout the United States.
In 2003, while seconded to the London insurance market, J.C. worked directly with leading Lloyd's and Company Market claims and underwriting personnel. This work included assisting in the drafting of various specialty lines wordings, risk assessment, claim analysis, and complex litigation management across virtually all classes of insurance currently being written in the London insurance market.
J.C. is a member of the American, Washington State, Oregon and King County Bar Associations. He is a Registered Foreign Lawyer with the Law Society of England and Wales, and is routinely admitted pro hac vice in various jurisdictions across the United States. He is also a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, the ABA Tort Trial and Insurance Practice and Litigation Sections, Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, and Northwest Insurance Claims Association.
Notably, J.C. has been voted a Washington "Super Lawyer" by his bar association peers, as reported by
Washington Law & Politics, every year since 2001.
J.C. received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington in 1986 (honors program) and earned his law degree at the Seattle University School of Law in 1989.
