Harvey Fruman joined the firm in February 1990 and is resident in the Santa Fe office, where he concentrates his practice in insurance litigation.
Mr. Fruman has worked in various capacities for the state of New Mexico, including serving a term as judge for the New Mexico Court of Appeals (1986-1988), general counsel to the governor of New Mexico, a term as assistant attorney general (1972-1979), and as a member of the New Mexico Institute of Public Policy (1985-1986). He also maintained a private practice and has spent time teaching. Mr. Fruman is currently a member of the New Mexico Code of Judicial Conduct Committee, the New Mexico Appellate Rules Committee and the American Judges Association, where he served one year as the New Mexico delegate.
Mr. Fruman earned his undergraduate degree from Ursinus College (B.S., 1964) and his law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law (J.D., 1971). He is admitted to practice in New Mexico and California and before the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Mexico and the Eastern District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico and the State Bar of California.
