John R. Slattery joined the firm's Philadelphia office in September 2003 and and is a member of the insurance group. He focuses his practice on subrogation and recovery. In this capacity, John investigates property damage claims including, but not limited to, fire damage, water damage, and building collapses resulting in significant property damage and losses. Where third-party tortfeasors are responsible and meaningful subrogation potential exists, John prosecutes claims on behalf of property insurers in an effort to recover the monies paid to insureds.
Before joining the firm as an associate, John participated in the firm's Summer Associate Program in 2002. John also served as a summer law clerk to the Honorable David G. Larimer, District Judge, Western District of New York in Summer 2001.
In 1998, John received his bachelor of arts degree in policial science from Boston College. He graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law in 2003, where he was a member of the Syracuse Law Review and the Moot Court Honor Society. John was also a recipient of the Chancellor's Scholarship at Syracuse. John is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
