Cozen O’Connor was recently listed by Thomson Reuters among the nation’s top 10 for public finance underwriter’s counsel, the tri-state region’s only firm in this category. Thomson Reuters ranked the firms for the first half of 2009 based upon the aggregate dollar amount of the deals handled.

The public and project finance practice is co-chaired by Suzanne Mayes and Ray Perez. The firm’s underwriter’s counsel work includes representing most major banking firms in the country. The practice’s multidisciplinary team of attorneys has experience in all types of finance transactions, such as tax-exempt and taxable financings, debt restructurings, off-balance sheet financings, securitizations, and municipal swaps and other derivative products. In addition to advising underwriters, the firm has closed more than $8 billion in bond financings over the past several years for states, local governments, state and local authorities, nonprofits, and developers, among other diverse clients.
