Cozen O’Connor Member John R. Washlick Elected Chairman Of Board Of Crossing The Finish Line

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Monday, November 03, 2008 - Cozen O’Connor member John R. Washlick has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crossing the Finish Line, a charitable organization that assists young adult cancer patients. The program sponsors a relaxing vacation for patients and their families, providing a respite from the demands of cancer treatment and helping the patient remember that his or her life is not defined by the cancer. Washlick, co-chair of the health law practice group, in the firm’s Philadelphia and Cherry Hill offices. He regularly advises hospitals, physicians, entrepreneurs and health care organizations on a variety of corporate, tax and health care regulatory matters, serving as both general and outside counsel for health care mergers, affiliations and joint ventures, including planning and developing hospital/physician integration and incentive compensation arrangements.

Washlick is a member of the board of directors of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). He is also a member of the board of directors of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s health and hospital law section and co-chair of the health law committee of the Camden County Bar Association. He also serves on the health law committees of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations and is an adjunct professor of law at both Villanova University Law School and Widener University School of Law.

A resident of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Washlick earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island (B.S.), his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law (J.D.), and his master of law from Georgetown University Law Center (LL.M.). He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
