Svend H. Deal joined the firm’s Charlotte office in September 2007 as an associate in the Subrogation & Recovery Department. While his focus is on complex construction and product defect litigation, Svend regularly represents business clients in disputes with public and private entities. Svend is admitted to practice law in North and South Carolina and has also handled matters in Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.
Svend is the chairman of the Associates Charity and Pro Bono Sub-Committee and is the associate representative on the firm's PAC. In 2012, Svend was appointed to the Charlotte Development Review Board. Svend continues to be active in community matters as an organizer of Jerry's Baddle, a benefit for ALS Research and as a long term volunteer at Taste of the NFL, which has raised more than $9 million in its effort to stamp out hunger in America.
Svend earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where he was an extern for The Hon. John Jolly of the North Carolina Business Court.
