Jahan Islami joined Cozen O'Connor's Miami office in 2013. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, venture capital transactions, debt financings, private placements, and general corporate matters. Jahan advises entrepreneurs, investors and company management on formation issues, financings, corporate transactions, operational and general corporate matters, and corporate governance. He has extensive experience in a variety of industry consolidations representing buyers, sellers, borrowers, lenders, and advisors. Jahan also works with distressed businesses in their reorganization efforts.
Jahan regularly represents middle market clients—corporate clients, private equity firms, other private investment funds, and high net worth individuals--and acts as outside general counsel for a number of his private company clients.
Jahan earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.
Jahan serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of The Miami Bridge, a not-for-profit that provides shelter and counseling for Miami’s abandoned, abused and runaway children.
