This presentation is designed to be a “how to guide” for handling a large property fire loss involving multiple potential product ignition sources. For illustration purposes, the presentation uses an actual case involving a multi-million dollar commercial building fire that originated from a copy machine. The presenters will walk the audience through the investigation process, each type of expert necessary, and the role of each expert in the process. Of importance in the case study is the demonstration that even if a complete building loss, with the right use of expert investigation, the precise point of origin, not only within a building/room, but within a product at issue, can be determined.
