Ethical Crossroads: Which Way Do I Go?

Adjusting insurance claims requires skill and knowledge that must be applied in an ethical fashion. The adjuster and the adjusting team have a variety of duties: duties to the policyholder; duties to their employer, whether it be an insurance company or and an independent adjusting firm; and duties to the applicable regulatory agencies or insurance departments. When confronted with choices, how can we best ensure that our decision-making is ethical? What tools can we bring to the task? How can we test the ethics of our choices?
