Gina Maisto Smith and Leslie Gomez, both members of Cozen O'Connor's Institutional Response Group, will be speaking at this meeting in San Francisco. They will both be speaking about institutional misconduct and investigations. State institutions, such as universities, colleges, and K-12 schools, are under pressure to respond to situations involving sexual violence, respond to Title IX violations and to establish fair and impartial procedures for the resolution of sexual and gender-based harassment and assaults. The attorneys general, as the states' lawyers, have a leading role to play in assisting their institutions to respond to these demands. Leslie and Gina will address the ethical issues involved in investigating institutional misconduct and assisting state institutions to develop policies to address these issues.
