Marcia Mulkey will present on a panel discussing environmental updates and what the changes from the Biden administration mean for the commonwealth and the city. With the inauguration on January 20, 2021, the environmental community expected regulatory changes vastly eclipsing those of the previous administration. Along with the anticipation of key environmental policy initiatives poised for action, there has been renewed efforts to strengthen the concept of “environmental justice” across federal agencies. The Biden-Harris administration is currently entering the second quarter with continued rollbacks of the Trump administration’s environmental regulatory scheme.
The panelists will provide an overview of the status of environmental regulation, enforcement, and initiatives in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the city of Philadelphia. They will also highlight the federal environmental regulations worth watching, anticipated changes to environmental enforcement, and Philadelphia’s sustainability and climate progress.
