Peter Lynch (San Diego) of our Subrogation & Recovery Department spoke on the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) & Association of Corporate Council-San Diego (ACC/SD) Diversity Fellowship Program (DFP) that places diverse first-year law students with the top law firms and employers in San Diego. Program selection is based on the total person: character, ethnic or cultural background, while showing academic and community excellence and involvement. Fellows are selected and paired with their employers who pay them for the duration of the program. During the program, fellows participate in a host of special workshops and programs while working at their respective placements.
Peter explained “the Diversity Fellowship Program allows Cozen O’Connor to encourage diverse students to excel, while simultaneously re-energizing our own attorneys who work with them. The optimism, energy and drive of the students creates a true “win-win” for both parties”. Camila Moreno of the California Western School of Law was selected as a Diversity Fellow for Cozen O’Connor this year. She expressed “the people, culture, and concepts I had the opportunity to discover as a Diversity Fellow have been invaluable. I am so grateful to have been selected to be a part of this incredible program”. A total of 17 fellows were paired with 16 different employers this year.
