The recent addition of Kevin Washo as Government Relations Principal to Public Strategies was covered by the Legal Intelligencer in "Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies Grabs DNC Host Committee Director," an article that describes Kevin as a "major player." Kevin says his new role will involve "navigat[ing] government bureaucracy throughout all levels," and his arrival will grow the public strategies offerings significantly in Philadelphia as well as more broadly in the state. Mark Alderman, chairman of Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies, explained that the firm hasn't deliberately sought work in the region up to this point but notes that "a year from now [the practice] will be several times its size."
Mark also elaborated on the bipartisan nature of the group, which "works with both major parties, and expects to continue its growth." He added, "We have very deliberately and successfully built a nonpartisan public strategies group. The election returns last week … are actually, and surprisingly to some people, an opportunity for us. Kevin is a part of that." Kevin further explained that the work he will be doing reaches beyond current administrations. "I haven't just been in politics. I've also served in a variety of capacities in government and had to work with both sides of the aisle. I'll be able to help a variety of people in a lot of fields," he said.
