Kevin Washo, government relations principal in Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies, appeared on Fox News to discuss the recent push for colleges and certain cities to remain a safe haven for undocumented immigrants. Kevin shared his opinion on how to lessen the burden during such a hostile time. “I think what we need to do is bring the temperature down whether it be sanctuary cities, sanctuary campuses there’s enough stress on both entities to have to deal with this and I think the added burden to deal with this issue in a time of real tough inaction by the federal government is pretty sad,” he said. Kevin also spoke about Philadelphia’s status as a sanctuary city and why similar cities around the country can continue to protect their undocumented immigrants while continuing to receive federal funds from the government. “I think to take that funding and withhold it from cities is only going to make us more unsafe. When you walk down the street here in New York, if you have 60 or 70 or 80 million dollars or whatever the number is be taken out of your city, it’s not going to make anyone more safe,” he asserted.
