Richard Close, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Real Estate Practice Group, is described as being an influential and authoritative leader in his Sherman Oaks, Calif. community, in Los Angeles Magazine. Richard joined Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association (SOHA) in 1976; he believed the SOHA could be more than just “a squeaky wheel,” and quickly sought opportunities for the group’s voices to be heard. For more than 39 years, Richard has led the monthly SOHA meetings, and distributed his newsletter, which channels the anger of SOHA’s 2,100 devoted households. In SOHA’s most recent meeting, over 250 of SOHA’s members have gathered to oppose the expansion of the former headquarters of Sunkist Growers, Inc. into a $100 million office, residential, and retail redevelopment.
