Philadelphia - January 2, 2018 - In a move that reflects the continuing growth of its private client practice nationwide, Cozen O’Connor is pleased to welcome Amanda K. DiChello to its Private Client Services Practice Group. DiChello will join the firm’s Philadelphia office as a member and will counsel high and ultra-high net-worth individuals and families on estate and trust administration and planning, as well as estate, trust, and fiduciary-related litigation. She comes to the firm from Philadelphia-based Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP, where she was a partner and co-chair of that firm’s 30-plus attorney Private Client Services Group.
“Amanda is one of only a few hybrid estate and trust practitioners who litigate estate and trust cases, while also handling sophisticated estate and trust planning and administration matters,” says Rob Friedman, chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Private Client Services Group. “Having litigated and defended countless fiduciary liability cases, Amanda is also able to provide first-hand risk mitigation and litigation avoidance advice to her fiduciary clients. We’re thrilled to have her join our practice group.”
Many of DiChello’s clients include high net worth women who have either inherited significant wealth, or have independently built and grown significant wealth, as well as beneficiaries and families, private and charitable foundations, family offices, and individual and corporate fiduciaries and beneficiaries. She advises clients on legal strategies that address family and monetary issues with an aim toward protecting client assets and minimizing both legal risks and tax and other financial liabilities.
“As a courtroom-tested trial lawyer with dual LL.M degrees in tax and trial advocacy, I am able to offer a unique litigation perspective to clients when handling estate and trust planning and administration work for them, and I possess the skills necessary to enter the courtroom when matters proceed to litigation,” DiChello says. “Being part of a growing, top-tier firm like Cozen O’Connor—with a sophisticated and highly-regarded Private Client Services Practice Group—provides me with a deep bench of experience and knowledge, which complements my practice and best serves my clients and their needs.”
DiChello is called upon regularly by peers and various state legal organizations and associations to speak, publish, and instruct other attorneys on topics ranging from estate, wealth and tax planning, to fiduciary litigation, trust and estate litigation, and charitable trust and nonprofit issues. She also serves and has testified as an expert witness in court in estate and trust cases.
For eight consecutive years DiChello has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star in the areas of estate planning and administration and estate and trust litigation. She was recognized as a 2017 Lawyer on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer and is also one of only nine other lawyers in Pennsylvania who is recognized for excellence in and as a leading practitioner in the area of Private Wealth Law by Chambers and Partners within its 2017 High Net Worth Guide.
She is currently serving as a council member of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association; and is an adjunct professor at the Villanova University Charles J. Widger School of Law, where she teaches wealth transfer taxation.
DiChello holds an LL.M. in Tax from the Villanova University School of Law Graduate Tax Program, as well as an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from the Temple University Beasley School of Law. She earned her J.D. at Roger Williams University School of Law, and her B.A. at Pennsylvania State University.
