The Philadelphia Bar Association has announced that Bernard Lee
, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Real Estate Practice Group
, is the recipient of the 2017 Dennis H. Replansky Memorial Award.
Established in 1997 by the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Business Law Section, the award recognizes the legal career of Dennis Replansky and his contributions to legal, civic, religious, and other charitable causes. Award recipients are selected based upon their superior legal talent in the area of business law, contributions to and significant achievements within the Philadelphia-area business law community, their reputation for mentoring young attorneys, participation in and contributions to civic and charitable causes in the community, and recognition in the legal community for honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
Bernard has a multi-faceted practice which includes real estate acquisition, development and financing, mixed-use and mixed-finance projects, public-private transactions, construction and architect matters, and hotels. . He served as a commissioner on the Philadelphia City Planning Commission for eight years, during which the Philadelphia Zoning Code was amended and remapping of the city commenced. He is also a past member of the Executive Board of the Real Property Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and a former president of the Barristers’ Association.
Active in the community, Lee’s pro bono work has included the representing of churches in the acquisition and financing of building, representation of the Shane Victorino Foundation in developing a Boys & Girls Club in North Philadelphia, serving as local counsel for the Kappa Alpha Psi Alumni Fraternity and serving as a mediator in the Philadelphia Bar Association Landlord Tenant mediation program. Bernard was previously recognized for mentoring by the Barristers’ Association with the Sadie T. Alexander Award and by the Woman’s Division of the National Bar Association with the Renaissance Man Award.
