New York, January 22, 2018 – Cozen O’Connor today welcomed Marc Selden as the newest member of its fast-growing Private Client Services Practice Group. Selden will work out of the firm’s midtown New York City office and focus his practice on advising high net worth families and businesses on estate and tax issues, international tax matters, and asset protection planning.
With its private client work continuing to expand nationwide, Selden is the third attorney to join the firm’s Private Client Services Practice Group in the last four months. In December 2017 litigator Amanda K. DiChello joined the practice, while Melissa Grossman joined the group in September. Both work out of the firm’s Philadelphia office.
Selden comes to the firm from Wilk Auslander in New York, where he served as a partner in that firm’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group. He joins Cozen O’Connor as a member and will concentrate on designing and implementing estate, business succession, and asset protection plans for individuals, families, and private business owners.
“It’s exciting to join a firm with both a national footprint and trust and estate practices the size and caliber of Cozen O’Connor’s,” Selden explains. “I decided to join Cozen O’Connor because its full-service platform will provide my clients with access to tremendous resources. At the same time, I believe my experience in the asset protection field will also add tremendous value to the firm’s clients.”
Prior to joining Wilk Auslander, Selden was the managing attorney of his own firm, Selden Law Group, P.C., an estate planning boutique, for 14 years. Prior to that, he practiced civil litigation in the New York City area. A seasoned lecturer on a range of complex estate and asset protection topics, he received a Superb-10/10 rating from the nationally recognized attorney rating service AVVO from 2009 through 2018.
“I’m really pleased to welcome Marc to Cozen O’Connor. His background includes serving as the primary business adviser to numerous families with successful, closely held multigenerational enterprises,” says Rob Friedman, chair of the firm’s Private Client Services Practice Group. “That experience, combined with our firm’s legal resources, will enable Marc to meet client objectives in a practical, comprehensive, and efficient manner, all of which will instill a sense of comfort and confidence.”
Selden earned his LL.M in taxation from the Boston University School of Law; his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law; and his B.A. from State University of New York at Albany.
