Jonathan Ballan, co-chair of the firm’s Public & Project Finance Group, paid tribute to investment banker Felix Rohatyn in The Bond Buyer. Rohatyn, who The Bond Buyer remembered as New York City’s fiscal savior, died at the age of 91 on Saturday, December 14. He was chair of the nine-member Municipal Assistance Corp (MAC) in 1975 when New York City was facing bankruptcy. Ballan, who chaired MAC for eight years beginning in 2000, said Rohatyn, “goes down in history as one of the great 20th century leaders of New York City.” Ballan met Rohatyn shortly after Ballan was appointed to chair MAC.
