David Walton was interviewed by Knowledge@Wharton, the Wharton School's online journal of business research and analysis, on the use of data analytics in the legal profession. David stated, "If you’re going to really be serious about using analytics and about being innovative in a law firm, you have to be in the fast lane. You have to be able to iterate over and over again because you have to experiment, learn, pivot. And then that’s how you get ahead." Some advice he gave to lawyers who want to start bringing analytics into their practice was to partner with nonlegal expertise, and study what businesses do outside of law to pick up on different things you would not have even thought about.
