Martin Pavane discussed with Law360 about filing your patent application as soon as you have something to sell. "In all cases, the safest thing to do is file something," said Martin. "If you have the least bit of doubt, file a provisional application. Write it up, submit it, and that way you never have to lose sleep at night about whether you've somehow sacrificed your right to get a patent down the road."
