Evan Pritchard is featured in Annandale Today, discussing the proposed renovations to the second-oldest McDonald’s in Virginia.
Under the current proposal, the applicant seeks to modernize the building, add a drive-through lane, and continue to provide access to the site from both Old Lee Highway and Old Pickett Road. Due to specific zoning concerns, the Fairfax County Planning Commission has deferred a decision on this matter until October 12.
“The two access points from Arlington Boulevard would be consolidated. Customers would enter from the service road, circle the building to place their order and pick up their food, and exit at the same access point,” Evan explains.
Virginia Department of Transportation has agreed to add a diagonal median on Arlington Boulevard and a bump-out median as safety measures to decrease collisions as cars exit the restaurant.
