EPA, Pa. DEP Take Aim at Oil and Gas Industry Methane Emissions [The Legal Intelligencer]

Lazaroff, an associate in the Utility, Environmental & Energy Practice Group, discuss the new EPA and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection programs and regulations that are intended to reduce methane emissions from operations in the energy industry. The new initiatives include, “Revised new source performance standards, new control technique guidelines and the publication of a draft information collection request.” George and Mark say that the new regulations will reduce emissions from “Both existing sources and new and modified sources,” and new regulations will impose significant requirements on the oil and gas industry.
