Anna Wermuth, Joseph Tilson, A. Martin Wickliff, Jr., and Jeremy Glenn Among Nation’s Top Labor & Employment Lawyers According to LawDragon/HRE

(April 18, 2017) —Four members of Cozen O’Connor’s Labor & Employment group have been named to the 2017 LawDragon/Human Resource Executive (HRE) magazine’s top Labor & Employment lists. Anna Wermuth, vice chair of the Labor & Employment Department, was named one of the “Top 20 Traditional Labor & Employment Attorneys” in the nation. For the seventh year in a row, Joseph Tilson, chair of the department, and A. Martin Wickliff, Jr., were named to the nation’s “Top 100 Most Powerful Employment Lawyers” list, and Jeremy Glenn was named an “Up & Comer” in Employment Law.      

 

These annually produced lists pair LawDragon, a Los Angeles-based network for lawyers and clients, and HRE in presenting the nation’s leading labor and employment defense lawyers. The attorneys on the list were selected from more than 5,000 submissions by clients and peers.

 

Anna Wermuth
As vice-chair of the firm’s national Labor & Employment Department and co-chair of its Higher Education Industry Group, Wermuth represents management in labor and employment litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies such as the EEOC, the Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board. She is recognized for her work representing colleges and universities in union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, and faculty litigation.   

 

Joseph Tilson
In addition to serving as chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Labor & Employment Department, Tilson is a co-managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office. His practice entails representing employers in large scale employment litigation and labor arbitrations. In the past 30 years, Tilson has tried more than 150 jury and non-jury cases before the full range of courts, administrative agencies and labor arbitrators. He is nationally known for his knowledge and success in handling large wage and hour class action cases, but he also has vast experience in collective bargaining involving large and complex bargaining units. Tilson is the vice-chair of the American Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section. He has been recognized as one of the nation’s top labor and employment lawyers, including being named the Chicago Employment Law “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in 2011, 2014 and 2017, and consistently achieving a Band 1 ranking from Chambers USA.

 

A. Martin Wickliff, Jr.
Wickliff is a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Labor & Employment Department in the Houston office. His representation of management includes advice and counsel, trials, appeal and administrative proceedings involving all types of discrimination matters (single and multiple plaintiff cases, as well as class actions), retaliation claims, layoffs and reduction in-force, noncompete and nondisclosure/nonsolicitation disputes, trade secrets, unfair competition, Sarbanes-Oxley and other whistle-blower actions, defamation, privacy claims, FMLA and WARN, as well as wage and hour litigation (collective actions and multiple plaintiff lawsuits). Wickliff is a former director of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors and a member of the Houston Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

 

Jeremy Glenn
For nearly two decades, Glenn has represented management in all facets of labor and employment litigation and counseling matters. His practice encompasses negotiations and disputes that arise from the onset of the employer-employee relationship. Glenn’s trial skills have been honed in federal and state courts and administrative hearings involving individual and class action wage and hour/overtime disputes, harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, non-compete agreements, OFCCP compliance and retaliatory discharge cases. Glenn is the Management co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Federal Labor Standards Legislation committee and regularly speaks on employment law topics to a national audience.
