According to the Innocence Project, eyewitness misidentification plays a role in more than 70 percent of convictions overturned through DNA testing nationwide. Eyewitness identification is a target-rich area for reform. Recently The Thrid Circuit Task Force on Eyewitness Identification was created by Judge Theodore A. McKee to combat convicting the innocent due to misidentification.
