Michael Klein, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Utility, Environmental & Energy Practice Group, discusses the rise of sexual harassment awareness in every sector of society, including the water industry, in Pennsylvania American Water Works Association's magazine, The Water News Source. Michael examines three reported sexual harassment cases which involved Tucson Arizona Water, Tampa Florida Water Department, and the San Antonio Water System. Michael urges public water systems, and investor-owned and municipal organizations to approach sexual harassment cautiously and responsibly, by taking steps that include discussing the sexual harassment policy, explaining the process for reporting sexual harassment, fairly and adequately investigating allegations and denials, and providing training for all employees on a recurring basis.
