How Paycheck Fairness Act Would Bolster US Equal Pay Law [Law 360]

Jennifer Queliz discussed the Paycheck Fairness Act (PFA), that passed the U.S. House of Representatives and is currently sitting on the Senate calendar. If enacted, the bill would provide amendments to the Equal Pay Act of 1963,[4] or EPA, and the Fair Labor Standards Act[5] to strengthen those laws’ protections against pay disparity on the basis of sex. But while Democrats may hope that the bill will gain momentum in the wake of the #MeToo movement and the Hollywood pay discussion in the last year, it is unlikely to pass the Republican Senate anytime soon.
