Michael McTigue, Meredith Slawe and Daniel Brewer co-authored an article published by the American Bar Association discussing how the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) has sparked a meaningful shift in the nature of privacy class action litigation and how the TCPA impacts businesses and customers today. They note that it is also crucial for legislatures to hear from both consumer groups and businesses to ensure that state privacy legislation intended to combat abusive practices does not instead become the basis for them.
