Ian Bain

Associate

Ian focuses his practice on commercial litigation and sports law.

Prior to joining the firm, Ian was an associate at two law firms located in New York. He concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation and sports law. Ian's experience includes litigating complex commercial cases, business torts, Section 1983 civil rights actions, and was involved in the NFL concussion settlement and arbitration/mediation process. After law school, Ian clerked in the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office in San Jose, Calif., where he drafted and argued motions to suppress and preliminary hearings for the Misdemeanor, Gang, General, and Violent Felonies units. He subsequently worked as an honors law clerk in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office in Baltimore, where he investigated police misconduct and identified potential Fourth Amendment violations for the Evidence Review Unit.

Ian earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School where he was a recipient of the Columbia Law School Public Interest and Government Postgraduate Fellowship. Ian earned his undergraduate degree, with honors, in American Studies from Trinity College where he was awarded the American Studies Thesis Prize for the best thesis in the major.
