Matthew is a registered patent attorney who focuses his legal practice on intellectual property litigation and prosecution. Matthew has experience in the fields of consumer products, medical and mechanical devices, and blockchain technologies. He has represented clients in cases involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition, covenants not to compete, trade secret misappropriation, and domain name disputes.
Matthew was tapped to assist in the drafting of the Eleventh Circuit pattern jury instructions for the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 and has been selected to the Florida Rising Stars list since 2016.
Matthew graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, and in the top 10 percent of his class. As a law student, he received Dean’s List recognition and the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Award for top performance in his intellectual property survey and property classes. He also served on the executive board of the International and Comparative Law Review.
Matthew has an active role in the Florida Bar, where he served as the past chair of the Computer and Technology Law Committee of the Florida Bar Business Law Section, and is chair-elect of the Continuing Legal Education Committee.
