Our friend and colleague Mark Jacobson passed away on April 27, 2023. Mark was a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Commercial Litigation group and co-chair of the Antitrust Practice since he first joined the Firm in 2018. Mark was not only highly regarded by his clients, but he was a great partner, mentor, and friend to all of us. He will be greatly missed.
Mark had more than 30 years’ experience representing clients in antitrust litigation, investigations and counseling, contract disputes, class action litigation, franchise, dealer and sales representative disputes, appeals, temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions, health industry litigation and regulation, trademark, copyright and patent infringement cases, and other business disputes. Mark represented both plaintiffs and defendants and particularly enjoyed tackling complex legal issues that were intertwined with business issues.
Mark was often retained by referral or as local counsel to guide litigants through Minnesota courts. He was a member of the Federal Practice Committee for the District of Minnesota, chair and member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Antitrust Section Council, and long-time member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Policy Committee and General Assembly. Mark was also experienced in mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution techniques as an advocate, mediator, and arbitrator.
Chambers and Partners USA, ranked Mark as a Band 1 antitrust lawyer in Minnesota, and Best Lawyers named him 2019 Lawyer of the Year - Antitrust Litigation in Minnesota.
