Chanel's practice focuses on trademark and copyright prosecution, enforcement, and litigation; internet domain and social media infringement and cybersquatting issues; and intellectual property transactional matters, including licensing agreements.

Chanel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, the University of Tennessee with a master's in sports management, and Princeton University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. At Princeton, she also served as the captain of the women's track and field team. Chanel was the 2010 Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s Boies, Schiller, & Flexner Scholar. She served as senior editor of the Journal of Business Law and was a clinical student in the inaugural Detkin Intellectual Property and Technology Legal Clinic. She also served as chapter president of the Black Law Student Association. Chanel currently serves as a board member of the Princeton Varsity Club, which serves to support the values and ideals of Princeton University Athletics. Chanel also serves as an executive board member of the Black Women in Sport Foundation, a national organization that provides programming to underrepresented youth in order to increase their involvement in all aspects of sports.
