Matt is an associate in the firm's Litigation Department. Matt has experience in several different areas including criminal defense, commercial disputes, and construction litigation.  He has been involved in significant representations involving internal investigations, compliance audits, and trial practice.  Representative matters have involved federal corruption law, federal and state regulatory agency investigations, health care fraud, litigation involving schools and universities, and intellectual property licensing disputes.   

Matt received his J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law and Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in history, with a minor in philosophy, from Bates College. While at Berkeley, Matt was an articles editor for the Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law and was awarded Best Oral Argument in 1L Written Oral Advocacy, the Jurisprudence Award in Juvenile Justice, and the Prosser Prize in Criminal Law and the Regulation of Vice. Matt also interned for the Death Penalty Clinic, The Bronx Defenders, East Bay Community Law Center, and Youth Law Center. After graduation from Berkeley, Matt served as an Education Defense Fellow for the Office of the Public Defender, Juvenile Division, in Baltimore.
