David has experience leading attorney teams and staff for trademark, copyright, transactional, and internet-related matters. He has handled projects for Fortune 100 technology and finance companies, as well as major brands in fashion, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, health care, and media. He has prosecuted trademarks before the USPTO and worldwide, handled cancellations and oppositions before the TTAB, and litigated trademark and copyright infringement matters in federal district court. He has recovered domain names using UDRP and ccTLD dispute resolution procedures. David has developed anti-counterfeiting and global brand enforcement strategies, drafted demand letters and intermediary takedown letters, overseen digital brand enforcement programs, and drafted and negotiated co-branding, licensing, non-disclosure, software-as-a-service, content production, and talent agreements. He has also advised on privacy, advertising, and unfair competition law, overseen maintenance of “.BRAND” gTLDs, and led advocacy efforts related to U.S. legislation, regulations, and USPTO rules.
Prior to joining the firm, David worked at a concierge-style intellectual property firm, starting as an associate and working his way to counsel. He also worked as an associate in the global brand management & internet practice of a Washington, D.C., firm where he focused on United States and global trademark prosecution, portfolio maintenance, and enforcement as well as domain name and internet matters.
David earned his bachelor’s degree from New York University and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. He is currently serving on the Trademark Office Practices Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
