John Johnson Interviewed by Capital New York about U.S. Women’s Soccer Team Captain Carli Lloyd

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

John Johnson, a member of Cozen O'Connor's Commercial Litigation Department, was interviewed by Capital New York about his representation of U.S. Women’s National team star and captain Carli Lloyd. John, who has represented Carli since 2006, discusses her passion and dedication to the sport, her goals, her work with trainer James Galanis and how her recent fame (after scoring the first hat-trick in a Women’s World Cup Final) compares to other notable moments in her career.

John also talks about watching this World Cup with his family. “When Carli scored the first goal we could be heard all over the neighborhood. It only got louder on the second and third goals with my wife telling us to calm down as we were getting out of hand. At the end of the game, my son shouted up the stairs to my wife to ask her if she could bring him down some aspirin because he hurt his shoulder during our celebration. Pure elation and excitement for Carli and James (her trainer) because we know the work they put in. To be honest, as it was happening, I thought it could not have happened to a more deserving individual.”
