Webinar

Date & Time

Start Date: 08/24/2023
Start Time: 1:00 pm
End Time: 2:00 pm EDT

EEOC Commissioner Andrea R. Lucas will join Debra Steiner Friedman, Alan Pittler, and Michael Schmidt for this webinar on the U.S. Supreme Court breaking their long-standing precedent to rule that educational institutions can no longer consider race when making admissions decisions. Since then, more than a dozen state attorneys general have cautioned large corporations of the potential consequences of using race as a factor in hiring and employment-related decisions, and employers are now questioning what can and cannot be done with DE&I programs that have been developed over the years to address historical inequity in the workplace.

This webinar will provide a timely discussion on the following:

  • What the Court’s affirmative action decision said and did not say
  • EEOC Commissioner Andrea R. Lucas' viewpoint: affirmative action and Title VII
  • The impact of the decision on higher education and private employers
  • Best practices for employers when implementing or reviewing workplace DE&I programs in light of the Court’s decision
