Jennifer A. Brandt is a member of the firm practicing with the Family Law group. She has significant experience representing parties in divorce, custody, support/alimony and same-sex dissolution matters throughout both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She assists parties in adoptions and in matters concerning incapacitated persons. Her involvement in family law litigation extends to both the trial court and appellate levels. She also negotiates prenuptial, post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements on behalf of clients.
Jennifer has represented a wide variety of clients in hundreds of family law cases throughout her career. In Pennsylvania, she regularly represents clients in all local counties including Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, Bucks and Berks as well as others. In New Jersey, she assists parties throughout the State including Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, Mercer, Atlantic, and Cape May counties as well as others.
Recognized as a legal expert by the media, Jennifer appears regularly on national and local television and radio. She can be seen nationally on CNN, Fox News Network, MSNBC, Headline News, TruTV, ABC and NBC. She appears on television shows such as “The O'Reilly Factor,” “Your World With Neil Cavuto,” “HLN Prime News,” “Issues With Jane Velez Mitchell,” “ABC World News Tonight,” and the “Today Show.” Locally she appears on Fox 29, The Comcast Network, KYW-TV (CBS 3), WPVI (6ABC), WCAU (NBC 10), and KYW News Radio.
Relying on her vast experience in family law, Jennifer frequently writes and contributes to articles in numerous publications, including the Huffington Post, Fox Business.com, The PhiIly Post, Avvo.com, Allparenting.com, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Business Journal, the National Law Journal, and Main Line Today magazine. She has been quoted in national publications such as USA TODAY.
Jennifer lectures regularly and plans courses for attorneys and other professionals on the topic of family law. Some of the courses she has planned for Pennsylvania Bar Institute include “Sophisticated Issues for Family Lawyers,” and “Dealing With Dirty Tricks In Divorce.” She has also presented at the annual Family Law Institute in Philadelphia and the General Practitioners Update and spoke at the Pennsylvania Bar Association Mid Year Meeting on issues related to the high profile divorce. She also lectures at the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants' divorce conference. In addition, she teaches a course for the general public, “Navigating the Rough Waters of Divorce” for Main Line School at Night.
Jennifer is recognized as one of the Ten Leaders of Greater Philadelphia - Age 45 and Under - In Matrimonial and Divorce Law. She has been rated a 10 (Superb) ranking at Avvo.com, a national website which rates legal and medical professionals. She was also named by Philadelphia magazine as a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer - Rising Star” for consecutive years. She was one of American Lawyer Media’s “Lawyers on the Fast Track.,” and subsequently was asked to be a judge for this competition.
In addition, Jennifer is an active member of the Family Law Sections of the American, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Camden County bar associations. She also is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Children’s Rights Committee and the Camden County Family Law Committee. She also serves as a panelist for the Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel program in Camden County. Jennifer is former chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Membership Committee and a former member of its Executive Committee. She is a former member of the Thomas J. Forkin American Inn of Court in Family Law.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts with highest honors from Rutgers University in 1991. She received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994 where she was senior editor of the Journal of International Business Law and an Arthur Littleton Fellowship Instructor in legal research in writing.
