Many surveys show that privacy and cybersecurity are the among the top issues that keep general counsel awake at night, but it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Emerging mobile technologies, the growth of the sharing economy, data analytics and the Internet of Things all will continue to present new challenges for in-house counsel. Even though general counsel are on the front lines dealing with these issues, there is no reason to fear. General counsel who commit proactively to dealing with privacy and emerging issues can protect their companies.
