Pennsylvania’s New Draft Cannabis Regulations: What Do They Mean for Growers, Processors, Patients and Caregivers?

Chris Raphaely and Joe Bedwick, members of Cozen O’Connor’s Cannabis industry team, will discuss these draft regulations and provide insight on critical issues facing potential growers, processors, patients and caregivers and how they might affect the final regulations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health recently announced draft temporary regulations for growers and processors who are looking to participate in the medical marijuana program once it is fully operational in 2018. The draft rules provide operational requirements for growers and processors and proposed regulations for patients and caregivers are expected to be finished later this year.

 

Marijuana is still classified as a Schedule I controlled substance by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, and as such it remains a federal crime to grow, sell and/or use marijuana.
