The 2018 CLM Annual Conference is a mix of educational sessions and networking events. The three day conference has more than 80 educational sessions and networking events that range from a Houston Astros game to community service events. Janet Davis and Michael Melendez, of Cozen O'Connor's Global Insurance department, and Traci Boyle, of Cozen O'Connor's Subrogation and Recovery department, will both be presenting along with numerous other industry professionals.
Janet Davis will be speaking on a panel titled, "Fake News or Grim Reality? Trump, the SEC, DOJ, and Predicted Effects on Business and Insurance." This panel will discuss the dire predictions about how the new administration would influence the business world and if any of those predictions have come true in the past year.
Michael Melendez will be speaking on a panel titled, "Legacy Provisions in CGL Policies: Gone But Not Forgotten?" This presentation will discuss how claims professionals should approach changes in standard CGL forms. The presentation will go further to discuss how these changes are treated in courts in various jurisdictions.
Traci Boyle will be speaking on a panel titled, "Autonomous Vehicles: Transition and Technology. The Future is Now." This presentation will discuss automated features in vehicles and how they are still likely to be involved in collisions. Some of the automated features are not currently accessible through existing forensic data collection tools. Any collision involving automated cars will require a team of experienced engineers, accident reconstructionists, human factors experts, attorneys, and risk manager to clearly communicate the findings from an accident.
