Gina Maisto Smith, chair, along with Maureen Holland and Devon Turner Riley, both members of Cozen O'Connor's Institutional Response Group, will be speaking at the Rowan University Title IX Summit. Gina, Maureen, and Devon will give a training presentation on “Hidden Child Abuse:  Lessons Learned from High Profile Investigations.” The theme for the 2018 Title IX Summit is “Power, Politics & Privilege.” This year the Summit’s workshops and plenary sessions will focus on the changes we can expect with the new administration and best practices moving forward. With the impending changes from the Department of Education, the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, and the increased public awareness of the prevalence of sexual harassment and sexual violence in a variety of industries, a renewed spotlight is being cast on Title IX. This year’s Summit will look to identify how these important conversations can and should affect the proactive measures that higher education institutions enact to ensure an education free from sex discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual violence.
