Leslie Gomez and Peter Lim will be speaking at the 2019 Title IX Summit. This session will address the emerging case law across the country that is shaping the future of college and university disciplinary proceedings. It will examine recent holdings on due process, the right to confrontation and cross-examination, and other investigative challenges. This session will provide an overview of investigative models and discuss the pros and cons of single investigator, hearing and hybrid models in the face of evolving expectations. The session will also consider the impact of OCR guidance and direction, provide examples of effective policies and procedures, and offer practical implementation advice.
