This webinar will provide an overview of the basic principles of responding to and monitoring excess liability claims. The topics covered include notice issues, reservations of rights, monitoring of claims, and cooperation duties, whether an excess insurer is bound by an underlying insurer’s coverage position or settlement decisions, and excess insurers’ rights against underlying insurers. In addition to reviewing applicable legal principles, the webinar will provide practical tips on the handling of excess liability claims.
