Jim Gale recently spoke at the Annual American Intellectual Property Law Association Conference. Jim’s talk centered around a new Trade Secret Registry, created by AON and implemented with the assistance of Cozen O'Connor, which allows companies to identify and then register their trade secrets using a confidential blockchain identifier. That Trade Secret Registry allows an insurer, such as AON IP Services, to value and then insure those trade secrets. The insurance can be either first party insurance, third party insurance, or both. The Trade Secret Registry also assists in identifying those trade secrets that add value to the company, or that may ultimately become the subject of litigation.
