Melissa Siebert spoke on the “Wrongful Collection: Practices that Lead to Liability” panel at the Privacy + Security Forum Spring Academy. Melissa discussed the types of data collection practices that lead to lawsuits under the Illinois Biometric Information Protection Act (BIPA) and other statutes governing data collection, including some unexpected statutes. She also discussed preventing such liability through risk management and regulatory compliance.
