Cozen O’Connor attorney Maggie Peterson recently lectured for the Spokane Adjusters Association’s Annual Education Seminar. Peterson spoke on commercial and social host liability issues, including the applicable standards of care for commercial and social hosts in the state of Washington and tips for handling associated claims. An associate resident in the Seattle office, Peterson concentrates her practice on insurance defense matters. Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, she worked as claims litigation counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. In 2005, along with the firm’s Seattle office, Peterson received the 2005 Amicus Award from the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, due to the office’s ongoing pro bono efforts on behalf of immigration and asylum clients seeking assistance while in proceedings. In 2006, Peterson was named a “Rising Star” by Washington Law & Politics.
Peterson is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University (B.A., magna cum laude, 1997) and the University of Southern California School of Law (J.D., 2000). She is admitted to practice in Washington and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, and is a member of the King County Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, Washington Defense Trial Lawyers and DRI.
