A member in the national insurance department, Loomis is the office managing partner of the firm’s Atlanta office. He has extensive experience in litigation, regulatory and contractual matters pertaining to the health, life, accident and disability insurance industry. He has litigated numerous coverage issues, including bad faith, punitive damages and deceptive trade practices claims, and has defended major insurance companies in various consumer related class actions and ERISA claims. Loomis advises insurance companies on contractual issues such as agency agreements, pharmacy benefit management agreements, and reinsurance treaties and also has experience in the implementation of new insurance products.
Loomis also regularly advises commercial general liability carriers on various coverage issues, and often defends insureds under commercial policies. He has litigated a wide variety of commercial matters involving contract disputes, Uniform Commercial Code claims, RICO claims, as well as employment disputes involving Restrictive Covenant claims, Misappropriation of Trade Secret claims and Title VII claims.
A resident of Atlanta, Loomis is a graduate of Tulane University (B.A., 1983) and Emory University School of Law (J.D., 1986). He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and the State Bars of Georgia and North Carolina, and received Martindale-Hubbell's top ("AV") Peer Review Rating.
