Cozen O’Connor recently extended entry-level offers to 75 percent of its 16 second-year 2009 Philadelphia summer associates, and to both of its Seattle summer associates. Growing in size this year, the Philadelphia class brought second-year law students from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Temple University Beasley School of Law, Villanova University School of Law, while the Seattle students came from University of Washington School of Law and Seattle University School of Law.
“We’re pleased to offer positions to such a large percentage of our 2009 summer class, as we’ve done in the last several years. This is part of an active program to continue attracting and retaining high-level legal talent,” said Sarah Davies, the firm’s hiring partner.
At a time when many programs are being scaled back, the firm is in the process of recruiting for the 2010 summer class, with plans to hire approximately 14 second-year students to join the summer programs in the Philadelphia, New York and Seattle offices. The firm also hires entry level lawyers on an as-needed basis in other offices that do not have formal summer programs.
“These current efforts underscore our ongoing growth as a firm and our commitment to cultivating the next generation of attorneys,” said Thomas A. Decker, president and CEO of Cozen O’Connor.
