New Organization for Women in Public Finance

Thursday, May 28, 2009

Suzanne Mayes, a member of Cozen O'Connor and co-chair of its public and project finance practice, has co-founded Ladies First, a new non-profit dedicated to providing educational and networking opportunities for female public finance professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region, as well as promoting the role of women in the public finance profession. “While women have made great strides in the field of public finance, it remains a largely male- dominated industry,” said Mayes. “Ladies First will fill a need that has been expressed by many colleagues with an interest in coming together for networking and educational purposes.”

In addition to her role as a founding board member, Mayes will serve as President of Ladies First along with Board Vice-President Rebecca C. Delia, PNC Capital Markets; Board Treasurer Alisha M. Phillips, Janney Montgomery Scott; Board Secretary Donna L. Kreiser, Esq., McNees Wallace & Nurick; and board members Katherine L. Clupper, Public Financial Management; Rebecca L. Peace, Esq., Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and Silvia A. Shin, Esq., Saul Ewing.
