The Honorable Nelson Diaz was appointed as a member of the Appellate Court Procedural Rules Committee for a term expiring June 30, 2013. The primary function of the Rules Committee is to make recommendations to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for refining and changing rules based on experience, inquiries and suggestions made to the committee by lawyers, judges and court officers and personnel, developing case law, and new legislation.

Nelson was also named a member to The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) Board of Trustees. The recent change of governance, now includes at-large national thought leaders, which will allow the organization to achieve its strategic goals and NFCC's vision which is "to create a national culture of financial responsibility."
